The Honeymoon Scam
You have placed your wedding announcement in the local newspaper so all your friends and family will be aware of the date of your marriage. But you must be aware they are many con men who stand in announcements on a regular basis looking for a victim.
If you get a call from a recording stating that you have one a fabulous honeymoon at a discounted price was $3000 now only $1000. All you have to do is press a certain number on the phone such as nine and you will be connected to their representative. Once you have done this a person will come on the phone saying they represent the company. They confirm you have indeed one a huge discount on your honeymoon trip. All you have to do is pay with your credit card $500 deposit to close the deal. Upon hearing this Stop!!! and immediately hang up the phone if you proceed you will be ripped off for the total cost of $3000 and the entire amount will be charged to your credit card and by the way no such trip ever existed.
It is very difficult to cancel this transaction even if you complain to your credit card company they may reply you agree to the terms when you press nine to confirm your trip. If you get a unbelievably honeymoon offer over the phone please ignore it remember if it sounds too good to be true it normally is.
