You are planning your perfect reception but you have run into a dilemma! Should you hire a DJ or a band? One of the disadvantages of hiring a band is they are limited to the songs that they know and they are not versatile to switch to different types of music. For example a country music band may not be able to play much rock 'n roll or old-time favorites.
The advantage of a DJ they have the ability to play most any type of music whether country, rock 'n roll, reggae or even classical. Most DJs will be able to take request from your guest for almost any song.
But this might be the solution for you why not have both this would surely be a wedding reception to remember. You do not have to have a large band with 4 or 5 members. I attended a wedding there a was a small combo and also a DJ. The combo played while the guess were dining in the DJ took over after the meal. They alternated on and off tell the end of the reception. So check it out this might be the solution you are looking for and could very easily fit in your budget.
