Wedding Vows

When planning your wedding, you might want to consider composing your own wedding vows rather than use the traditional ones.

Your vows are the most important words that will be spoken on your wedding day. When writing your wedding vows, this is no easy task. You have to do some prior planning and if the church allows you to add your own vows. Sometimes, you will be stuck to the traditional vows of the church.

If you are not getting married in a church, you should check with the officiant who performs the ceremony if it is allowed to substitute your vows. You should write your vows in advance so; you won't miss any single word. It is also a good idea for you and your spouse to write your vows together so; you will be on the same page. When composing your vows, it is okay to use words from your favorite songs, poems or lines from your favorite movie. Be sure to practice so the lines will flow easily.

The Marriage Ceremony

The state of Florida does not require a specified language or protocol for use in the performance of a marriage ceremony.

If both parties agree and the notary performing the wedding or justice of the peace or clerk of the courts the wedding party may request that their own written vows be used in the ceremony. There is also no age limit put on the person who signs as a witness to the marriage. The person performing the marriage should have a brief conversation if the witness is young so they understand the seriousness of being a witness. There is no law required in Florida that they actually have to have a witness although there is a blank spaces provided for this on the marriage application it is recommended that they have leased two witnesses. If you have any questions concerning your marriage vows or procedures during the ceremony be sure to have a short rehearsal with the person performing the wedding they can it put your mind at ease and answer all your questions.

Wedding Vows

You would like to add your own wedding vows to your special day but you are very nervous because you want to make sure you compose your vows properly. You don't have to be a poet or a master of the English language to write a meaningful wedding vow. You may use famous quotes or lines from famous movies or something that is truly meaningful to your partner that you both shared together.

To get inspired you may read through some old love letters or favorite books or your favorite line in a movie or a stanza from one of your favorite songs that you both enjoy together.

While writing your wedding vows remember you have a unique relationship your vows should be beautiful and honest. This is your wedding day and should be a day of love and happiness. Remember to try to tailor your vows to fit your relationship. Your vows should be heartfelt and the true feelings of both the bride and groom.
