Travel Warnings

If you are planning to get married in a foreign country or planning your honeymoon abroad you should check with the State Department to see if the location is safe.

The State Department issues travel warnings to certain countries when conditions in a certain country are dangerous or unstable. These warnings are issued to try and protect Americans from putting themselves in harm's way. The warnings will either recommend that you avoid the country in question or will at least advise you on the risk you are taking. A warning will also be issued if the United States government is not able to assist American citizens due to the closure of an embassy or consulate or because of a reduction in staff. So before planning your wedding or honeymoon plans be sure to go to the State Department website and check the list where travel warnings have been issued.
